Lara Schleining
Based in the stunning Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon, Lara Schleining brings over 20 years of experience competing with and caring for elite sport horses. As the owner of Silver Spring Farm in Ashland, she has cultivated a premier equestrian facility that has produced national-level dressage and hunter-jumper programs since its establishment in 2006. Drawing from her family’s background in development, Lara recently launched a consulting business to assist other equestrian facilities and programs in optimizing their operations. Today, Silver Spring Farm is home to her two beloved horses, Karoe and Feodora, both imported from Europe and now enjoying a well-earned retirement under her expert care. Beginning in the summer of 2025, she and her team will expand the farm’s offerings to welcome a select number of retired sport horses, continuing her commitment to providing exceptional care and a peaceful haven for these remarkable animals.
Jose Gutierrez
Jose Gutierrez has been the Farm Manager at Silver Spring Farm for 25 years, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. As a highly skilled horseman, he leads a committed and reliable on-site team, overseeing all aspects of equine care with expertise and attention to detail. In addition to ensuring the health and well-being of the horses, Jose manages the maintenance of the farm’s pastures, fencing, buildings, equipment, and supplies. His leadership provides horse owners with the confidence that their beloved animals will receive consistent, professional care throughout their well-deserved retirement.
